A PAIR OF UNITED STATES MODEL 1917 SWORD BAYONETS, early 20th Century, 1) 17 in. single-edged steel blade fullered on each side, ricasso marked '1917' above circled 'REMINGTON' logo and 'US' plus grenade mark over, steel cross-guard and hilt with wooden grips, worn with rusting and smoothed pitting, no scabbard, 21 3/4 in. overall; 2) 17 in. single-edged steel blade fullered on each side, ricasso marked '1918' above circled 'REMINGTON' logo and 'US' plus grenade mark over, steel cross-guard and hilt with wooden grips, pommel marked 'R / COTC / 178', together with its green leather scabbard marked 'H. E. / JEWELL 1918' and green painted steel fittings, a little wear to the scabbard paint and minor surface rust to the pommel. good example, 22 3/4 in. overall
